Should we consider an upgrade or switchover during the transition or wait until we have completed our transition?
In some cases, upgrades and switchovers are better left for times outside of a transition due to the complexities that these activities may add to the transition. In other cases, upgrades and switchovers may reduce the complexity of a move given pervasive issues that may be experienced in the environment due to incompatibility. In considering upgrades and/or switchovers, it is critical to assess the impact that upgrades and switchovers may have on the overall success of the transition.
