FAQs
Can a traditional moving company move or consolidate our technology infrastructure?
In a majority of cases, the answer is no. A traditional moving company is NOT equipped to assess, plan and manage a move or consolidation of technology infrastructure. Instead, they are one of many vendors involved in the transition process. Movers do have an important role in the planning and day-of activities of a move. In the planning of a move, movers provide assistance to coordinate the logistical activities of physically moving equipment and materials from one location to another. The movers expect that the company will package and prepare all materials for the move prior to their physical involvement. Once engaged, the movers will provide a safe and efficient service that moves all materials. Upon arrival at the designated location, the movers place the materials in predefined spaces, and will expect that the company (customer) will assume the duties to unpack and/ or install the materials that have been moved. Additionally, and depending on your organization's contracts with your hardware vendors, your warranties may be voided in the event that an unauthorized provider moves specific equipment. We strongly recommend that you review your contracts to determine any issues with hardware movement.
